Hello fam,

This week has gone by pretty fast, its true what they tell us: the weeks are short and the days are long. but for me even the days seems to go by pretty fast.

Re-learning Japanese is fun and we’ve mostly just learned gospel terms. What I learned in college is slowly coming back to me and watching anime/listening to Japanese music all the time helped me immensely. I remember on day one when I sat in the classroom I could understood so much of the Japanese he spoke. About 80%.

Thank you so much for sending those sheets and my blanket. Nights have been so much better with those. It is much more comfortable.

My companion likes to joke around a lot and has a hard time focusing—sounds like an Orange. It has been difficult for me to work with that because all I want to do is study or learn more. I guess my Green personality is showing through. I’ve been learning slowly to come out of my shell. It has been so hard but fulfilling.

Dad might be happy to hear that I’ve been doing choir. I am singing in the tenor section. We sang Nearer My God to Thee at the Tuesday devotional. The Spirit has been amazing in all of our devotionals. I love it. The people that I was around said I sang really well but I think they are just being nice.

Anyway, studying in the same room for days has been tiring but I’ve learned a lot more about myself and how much I can handle. Patience has been helpful too. I’ve never really felt homesick since I got here. It has been a blessing. I think it may be my age that is a factor in that. Thanks for all the letters they mean so much to me.

I’ll leave you all with the my testimony that I know God is our Eternal Father and the Atonement is real. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and I know that through the gospel we can be with Heavenly Father again. I know that even though the MTC is hard and I’ll be here for what seems like forever, I know that this is where I am supposed to be.
