Letter #27: Memories of Tokuyama

Hello family and friends,

Sorry I did not email yesterday. This week is transfer week so our p-day is Tuesday. So we found out Sunday that our area is getting whitewashed. This means my companion and I are being transferred out of Tokuyama and we are being replaced by sister missionaries. It’s really weird and kinda crazy. We have to make a list of every PI and everything about are area and also we need to deep clean the apartment. It’s crazy! I still don’t know where I will be transferred but I will find out soon. I may send off a quick email tonight after eikaiwa to let you all know. Take your bets now.

It has been a great time here in Tokuyama and I have learned a lot about myself and about the work in general. The members here are super amazing and it will be sad to leave them this week. We will be going around to some members houses tomorrow to say goodbye and stuff. It is really sad.

This week we had a junkai (companion exchanges) with the Hofu elders again. It went really well and we found a bunch of people. I learned a lot from our district leader Elder Inagaki. We also had our pizza party on Saturday. It went very well and everyone had such a great time. I quadrupled dads recipe in the book and we still didn’t have enough lol. Everyone loved the pizzas. I channeled my inner dad pretty well. The pizzas were mostly supremes that I made but it was so good. Tasted very nostalgic. I will have to make them again in the future.

This area is such a great area. It is a shame that it is turning into a sister missionary area but it may be for the best. I was hoping one day I would be able to come back. This is such a great area. I can’t say it enough.

I hope everyone has had a good week and I am grateful for all of the the letters this week and the updates. Love you all and I can’t wait to hear from you next week!
